SAVE THE RAILWAY ARMS PUB MEETING

STRAP Campaign Meeting at the Town Hall Attracts Plenty of Interest

An astonishing 130 eager listeners turned up to the Town Hall meeting on Wednesday. Some early birds with their pens a ready and others pushing to get in having just got off their commuter train.

Tom Bennett and Dave Kenny gave us an overall idea of the proposed plan and explained how the buying of shares works. Alan Collard from the ‘More Than A Pub’ programme talked through his experience of being part of the community purchase and running of The Green Man pub in Toppesfield.

With so many questions and contributions, both from the meeting and social media. It is evident we have a keen level of interest, and already pledges, questionnaires and ideas are coming in thick and fast.

We are aware that not everyone could attend the meeting so please see our Resources section of the website where all the documents are available.

Or fill in a pledge form or questionnaire to help us deliver Saffron Walden’s first community pub!

CAN YOU HELP?

Get involved, share your views, make a pledge

So now is the time to get involved and take part in the online questionnaire and/or fill in the pledge form so you can both help Save the Railway Arms Pub and have a say in what kind of pub it becomes.

The Railway was officially registered as an Asset of Community Value (ACV) at a district council meeting on 30th March 2017. This was a great victory in the face of strong opposition from the owners and effectively means we have six months in which to raise funds and use the Community Right to Bid in an attempt to buy the pub.

So now is the time to get involved and take part in the online questionnaire and/or fill in the pledge form so you can both help Save the Railway Arms Pub and have a say in what kind of pub it becomes.
